‘Shot against the backdrop of the Hong Kong city, the NEXT LIFE video encapsulates change.’

” E.L. Davis approached me to visually actualise his beautifully poetic song…. Next Life.

At the time Hong Kong was undergoing seismic changes. The city was regularly being brought to a stand still by the pro democracy movement and anti-legislative protests.” explains Nic.

“ this was the background against which we were to shoot the accompanying video.”

Nic went onto say that he believes the song ( and accompanying video ) not only speak on a personal level to people but also identifies itself as a paradigm of change; mirroring hope and the eternal struggle.

‘I feel that the song has the wonderful ability to resonate with people and can be interpreted on many levels. It required a visual interpretation which also mimicked and represented that connection. A visual attestation of a moment and of a time that could connect on a personal level’

The strength of the song is is conveyed through a rich multilayered tapestry of visual symbolism; allowing the viewer to disseminate a personal narrative and align with the artists intentions and emotions.
